Wigan v Man City Tip

Mancini is not yet enjoying the new year

Alex Ferguson will be rubbing his hands in glee at the thought of the neigbours dropping more valuable points.

We all know Manchester City are having a wobble and a Monday night trip to Wigan may cause a few more jitters. Mancini’s boys are winless in their last four league games on the road, and haven’t scored in the last two. And then there were the consecutive home defeats in both the domestic cup competitions. A draw at the DW Stadium at best odds of 18/5 (VictorChandler) suddenly looks very tasty!

The Latics may be bottom of the league but it’s not long since they showed their mettle against the big boys. Both Liverpool and Chelsea left town with just a solitary point as recently as December. The Citizens will arrive feeling the pressure every bit as much as those two did. With Vincent Kompany and the Toure brothers definitely still missing, and Mario Balotelli a doubt, the league leaders will be significantly depleted yet again.
