West Ham v Man City Preview
City are simply too short given their travails especially away from home.
It takes a brave person to pile into Man City at 4/7, away from home given their recent jitters. It’s perhaps stating the obvious that Pep Guardiola has a bigger job on his hands, than perhaps even he expected – especially in defence.
City have conceded 28 goals this season giving them only the joint-ninth best defence (in terms of numbers) with West Brom. Four defeats away from home in 11 matches doesn’t read particularly well either and they face a resurgent West Ham.
Possibly galvanised by the Dmitri Payet affair, West Ham are enjoying a good run something I put down to variance. Bilic’s men are simply getting the results their play deserves, which wasn’t happening earlier in the season.
Andy Carroll is sure to cause problems against a suspect City defence and they are slightly too big at 8/5 (Bet365) to get something out of the game in the double chance market.
