West Brom v West Ham Tip

Only Manchester United have won more home games than West Brom in the top flight in 2012-13.

Two teams who are somewhat out of form clash in the second televised match on Sunday afternoon but I think it’s the hosts who will arrest their slide. West Brom are the 21/20 (Ladbrokes) favourites to take three points but I think we can improve the value by taking them to win to nil at best odds of 13/5 with PaddyPower.

Admittedly, the Baggies have lost three on the spin while West Ham have left empty-handed three times in the last four; neither will be brimming with confidence. However, home advantage should be significant here with WBA having won 6 out of 8 at the Hawthorns in 2012-13 while the Hammers have tasted victory just twice on the road.

Sam Allardyce will be concerned that his boys have mustered just five goals in seven trips away from Upton Park. The continued absence of Andy Carroll and Ricardo Vaz Te up front will not help his cause in the west Midlands. When you consider that Albion have kept seven clean sheets in their last 12 home fixtures, the value in the ‘to win to nil’ market becomes apparent.
