WBA v Southampton Tip

The Saints are conceding just shy of three goals a game on average. The Baggies are capable of adding to their woes.

West Bromwich Albion are incredibly unfortunate to only be 9th in the Premier League table after back-to-back injury time defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle. The Baggies could have easily won both those fixtures and conceivably they could be sat in the top four right now; a win tonight and they will go level on points with Everton anyway.

Steve Clarke will be confident against opponents who have conceded a record 26 goals in their first 9 games of the season. Southampton earned plaudits for their spirited performances against the top flight elite but when they are also conceding four to WestHam, another promoted team, there are problems.

WBA had a 100% record at the Hawthorns before the champions snatched victory there last time out. However, a best price of 3/4 (Coral) on the home win doesn’t much appeal. Instead I would definitely favour the hosts to score in both halves at 8/5 with totesport.
