Southampton v Tottenham Preview

Southampton finally found their scoring touch against local rivals Bournemouth but there’s still plenty of upside to come in their scoring%.

Southampton rank 6th in my game state adjusted shot metrics, averaging 15.4 shots per game. Unfortunately, this has only yielded 17 goals all season making them the 16th highest scorers in the league.

If Southampton kept up their shot volumes (and locations weren’t terrible) the goals will come as they did against Bournemouth. Life will be harder against a strong Tottenham defence but the Saints have legitimate claims to be the ‘best of the rest’ in the Premier League.

Southampton have lost only one game at home all season and are a strong bet at Evens in the draw no bet market.
