Stoke v Liverpool Tip

The Potters are 15 league matches unbeaten at fortress Britannia.

Pretty much every statistic you care to look at makes a mockery of Liverpool being nothing longer than 6/5 (PaddyPower) to win this one.

Stoke are unbeaten in eight Premier League matches and haven’t lost on home soil since way back in February. The Reds have never won in the Premier League at the Britannia Stadium (D2 L2) and have only taken three points on their travels twice in 2012-13 anywhere. The Potters have kept the most clean sheets (9) and conceded the fewest goals in the top flight (13)

Clearly we shouldn’t expect a goal-fest as four of the nine Premier League fixtures between these two has ended 0-0, including the last two. However, I think if either team is more likely to sneak success, it’s the hosts. Stoke are a best price 10/1 (StanJames) to claim a famous 1-0 victory and I can’t see how this isn’t good value.

Tony Pulis’s boys normally get at least one on their own patch having only fired a blank once in the last seven (W4 D3). Michael Owen may play a part and with Peter Crouch in the frame as well, maybe it will be a Liverpool old boy who spoils another away day for Brendan Rodgers.
