Stoke v Crystal Palace Preview

Stoke v Crystal Palace Preview

Palace are a better team away from home and their underlying metrics are still better than those of Stoke.

It’s panic stations at Crystal Palace with Sam Allardyce struggling to exert any influence over a squad bereft of confidence. The 4-0 defeat at home to Sunderland was ghastly but Palace’s home form has been an issue for a couple of seasons now.

In terms of personnel, Palace are set-up better to counter attack and they have 12 points on their travels compared to just 7 at Selhurst Park. A trip to Stoke is probably no bad thing as they face at team meandering in mid-table.

Over the course of the season I have Palace on -0.14 expected goals per game, better than Stoke at -0.31. Individual errors, low confidence and simple bad luck has conspired against Palace but there is time to turn it around.

It worked at against Bournemouth and Palace are good value to win at 7/4 (Paddy Power) in the draw no bet market.
