Stoke v Everton Tip

There's no tougher ground in English football for away teams to score at than the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke City are fast becoming my favourite team to bet on because you know exactly what you’re going to get with them. Total attrition. They delivered for us comfortably last week in the under 1.5 goals market, drawing 0-0 with Villa, and I see no reason not to go again with the same strategy on Saturday.

It’s fair to say that games at the Britannia Stadium have rarely been described as exhilarating this season. There have been a grand total of nine goals in seven league fixtures, with the Potters only conceding twice in 2012-13. That’s fewer than any team in any division in English football. It’s little wonder that the hosts are unbeaten in 14 league games on their own patch.

Everton are a resilient bunch themselves these days and sit proudly in fourth spot heading into the weekend. However, they don’t tend to enjoy clashes with this opposition. The Toffees have only scored two goals in their last five matches with Stoke.

Yet again StanJames provide us with the best value in this particular market. They go 85/40 on there being under 1.5 goals in the game. Six of the last eight Potters’ fixtures would have won us this bet so the value seems pretty undeniable.
