Stoke v Chelsea Tip

The Potters are unbeaten in 11 months at home while the Blues keep self-destructing.

Perhaps the standout piece of value in the Premier League this weekend comes at ‘Fortress Britannia’ where the hosts are unbeaten for the better part of a year. They last lost a home Premier League fixture way back on 4 February. At best odds of 10/3 (Betfred), Stoke are just too inexplicably long to pass up.

The Potters have conceded a mere seven goals on their patch in 2012-13, a divisional best, and they’ve had their feet up while Chelsea continue their brutal fixture programme. The Blues can’t seem to take a step forward without taking a couple back.

The Londoners’ 8-0 victory over Villa and the 5-1 win at Southampton last weekend show the potential, but unfortunately it just makes the setbacks all the harder to stomach for the restless fans. Either side of the FA Cup triumph, dismal home losses to QPR and Swansea, the latter as recently as Wednesday, have added to the pressure on interim boss Rafa Benitez.

The former Liverpool manager could hardly have dreamt up a less inviting fixture than Stoke away, in the circumstances.
