QPR v West Ham Tip

The Hoops are better than the bare results suggest and should rise up the table on Monday night.

At the end of last season we saw that when QPR really had to find results at Loftus Road they duly did so. The Hoops won all of their final five home games, including victories over Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. Now, bottom of the league, there will be a similar sense of urgency, and I think they will triumph over West Ham at best odds of 6/4 (bodog).

Mark Hughes claims that performances have been better than results and he has a point. The last three league outings have been against Man City, Chelsea and Spurs, and they have competed against everyone one of those big guns.

The Hammers have taken 7 of their 8 points at Upton Park and I don’t expect them to travel brilliantly this campaign. They were soundly beaten at Swansea while a 0-0 draw at Norwich is no reason to get out the bunting.

QPR may have a host of defensive injuries but they should have too much for the visitors in an attacking sense. Bobby Zamora has scored 3 from just 4 shots on target while Cisse and Hoilett struck morale-boosting goals in the League Cup last time out. With Taarabt also likely to feature, Hughes should anticipate 3 vital points tonight.
