QPR v Man City Tip

The Citizens have moved into title-contending form at the start of 2013 and that means no slip-ups at Loftus Road.

I was slightly surprised just how good Manchester City’s form is as they are going about their business very efficiently without attracting rave reviews. The facts are that they have won their last six matches in all competitions and they haven’t so much as conceded a goal in the past five outings.

The champions have a chance to close the gap at the top of the table to just two points, at least for 24 hours, and Mancini’s men will surely revel in that possibility. They head to a QPR side who were battered in the FA Cup by MK Dons. That won’t have helped morale but Redknapp fielded a reserve team and I don’t think that will have much bearing on Tuesday.

With his strongest eleven, the former Spurs boss has seen a definite improvement of late. Chelsea were beaten while Tottenham, WBA and West Ham were all held. Because of this, I think we can rule out a heavy defeat for the hosts here.

Instead it should be closer than the league positions suggest, but I think the visitors will make it six clean sheets from six in January. I’m torn between a 1-0 win or a 2-0 win for City (both best prices of 15/2 with BetVictor). I’ll favour the latter option just because the strikers are due a contribution.
