That's Half The Battle

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last 11 top flight away games up until half-time. The double bet market is therefore inviting here.

After a humbling 3-1 defeat at home to Sunderland on Monday night, almost everyone will assume Crystal Palace will be lambs to the slaughter at Old Trafford. But there is plenty of evidence to suggest they will at least put up a fight.

The Eagles are actually yet to be behind at half-time in any of their away matches in the top flight in 2014-15. That’s a pretty decent statistic when you consider they have already travelled to Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Hull and West Brom this term.

Incredibly, this first half away resilience actually dates all the way back to March when Palace trailed Swansea 1-0 at the break, in a match they ultimately drew 1-1. Since then they have enjoyed 11 unbeaten first halves in the Premier League.

With this in mind we should reject the 5/6 (Ladbrokes) on the Red Devils winning at half-time and full-time and instead take the much longer 18/5 (BetVictor) on a first half draw being followed by a United victory in the end.
