It’s incredibly difficult to ignore Luis Suarez on his current run of eight goals in three matches but at best odds of 2/5 (Coral) to score anytime on Saturday, the Uruguayan doesn’t quite make for a bargain. Instead, in the same market, let’s chance our arm with his team-mate Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian is available at 7/4 (Ladbrokes) to find the net against Cardiff and he isn’t five or six times less likely to do so than Suarez. The former Inter and Espanyol player has had 42 shots from just nine starts and two sub appearances for his one goal in 2013-14. There are a few players in the league more due an improvement in terms of goal return.
The 21-year-old is getting ever closer having hit the bar in the 5-0 rout of Spurs last weekend and after eight shots against West Ham before that. It’s just a matter of time for Coutinho and we have the price to back him now.
