Cahill lines up against old club Villa

Monday night is the main event when Man City's title credentials are again tested at resurgent Chelsea. There's plenty to keep you occupied till then though.

Arsenal v Everton:

Mikel Arteta is 12/1 (Coral) to be first goalscorer against the side he represented with distinction for many years. The Gunners have won 13 of their last 15 at home to Everton in the league, and are 4/7 (PaddyPower) to do so again. But the Toffees have more victories away than at Goodison this season; a shock Blues triumph is 6/1 (Ladbrokes).

Bolton v Aston Villa:

The hosts won this fixture 3-2 last campaign and the repeat is 28/1 (Skybet). Both teams are on dreadful form. Bolton are 6/4 (WilliamHill) to stop a run of three straight defeats by taking three points. Villa are 2/1 (VictorChandler) despite failing to score in their last three outings.

Liverpool v QPR:

The Reds failed to overcome Norwich or Swansea at Anfield but find themselves 4/11 (PaddyPower) to beat the other promoted side. The so-called ‘minnows’ keep holding Liverpool, and another draw here is 4/1 (Betfred). QPR have won on Merseyside already, at Everton; they also beat Chelsea, so may fancy their chances at 11/1 (VictorChandler).

Man Utd v Wolves:

The champions are having a shocking week but a further defeat here is surely unthinkable (14/1 Bet365). United have scored one goal in each of their last seven league matches and won four of the last five 1-0. That scoreline is 15/2 (Skybet). Rooney - no goals in 8 league games is 5/6 (Bluesquare) in the ‘anytime’ goalscorer market. Wolves’ Steven Fletcher has 10 in 15, but he’s 5/1 (WilliamHill) to find the net.

Norwich v Newcastle:

The home side are 6/4 (WilliamHill), with striker Steve Morison 9/5 (PaddyPower) to add to his tally of four in his last five. Newcastle will want a return to defensive meanness and winning ways after their tough run of fixtures; they are 9/2 (Bet365) to be the only goalscorers. The draw could appeal at 5/2 (VictorChandler).

Swansea v Fulham:

These two have kept six clean sheets apiece this season - only Man Utd can better that. So what price a 0-0 draw? I’ll tell you. 8/1 Boylesports. The Swans weren’t on that sort of defensive form last week when they let in four at Blackburn; a bounce-back victory is 17/10 (WilliamHill). The Cottagers are slowly improving on their travels, unbeaten in the last three, they are 15/8 (PaddyPower) for the win.

West Brom v Wigan:

This could be a rare opportunity for Roy Hodgson to start with his ‘dream’ pairing up front. In the first goalscorer betting, Shane Long (5/1 Totesport) and Peter Odemwingie (5/1 Ladbrokes) are the same price if you shop around. Victor Moses has had 43 unsuccessful shots for Wigan; he is 14/1 (Bet365) to break the deadlock. A repeat of February’s 2-2 draw is 18/1 (WilliamHill).

Sunderland v Blackburn:

Martin O’Neill takes to the Sunderland dug-out for the first time looking to avoid a third consecutive personal loss to Rovers, at odds of 7/2 (Boylesports). After bagging four by himself last week, Yakubu may tempt a few punters at 8/1 (Bet365) to open the scoring. The new Black Cats boss will send expectations soaring if The Mackems repeat last term’s 3-0 success at 16/1 (Coral). But any win will surely do at 10/11 (Coral).

Stoke v Tottenham:

Four former Spurs players could line up for the Potters with Peter Crouch surely the greatest goal threat at 5/2 (Skybet) in the ‘anytime’ market. Stoke appear to be over their slump, now hunting a third straight victory at 3/1 (Betfred). Redknapp’s side have won their last two trips to the Brittania 2-1; the same again is 8/1 (Ladbrokes).

Chelsea v Man City:

Saving the best for last. Didier Drogba rolled back the years to bag a brace in the Champions League win over Valencia. He is 7/1 (Skybet) to break the deadlock here. Mancini’s boys have taken seven points from a possible nine at Old Trafford, Anfield and White Hart Lane; they are 2/1 (VictorChandler) to add three more at Stamford Bridge. A Chelsea win is 6/4 (Boylesports) with the draw at 12/5 (Betfred).
