Man City v Blackburn Tip

Yakubu: 13 goals in 17 games

Hard to find value betting on the obvious outcome here. We can still find some without relying on a shock though.

Manchester City should win this game, they should score a few goals. But. For all their problems, Blackburn Rovers have still maintained their record of scoring in every Premier League away fixture this season, and one man in particular has been prolific. With 13 goals in 17 appearances, Yakubu looks like our best chance of value at 9/2 (Ladbrokes) in the anytime goalscorer market.

The 29-year-old has shown he can score at the toughest venues already. His two goals at Old Trafford on New Year’s Eve were an obvious highlight - although he also scored four in an afternoon against Swansea in December! With another successful strike in his last outing, a 3-2 victory against QPR, we have no reason to doubt his form or even that of his team.

The former Everton and Middlesbrough striker may only need one opportunity to make his mark at the Etihad Stadium. ‘The Yak’ has the best shots-goals conversion rate in the entire top flight with 38%.
