Liverpool v Man City
The Reds are on a high, and have had all week to prepare. Man City stumbled in Italy and won't relish this one.
There’s something special about big occasions at Anfield. You would almost fancy this current Liverpool side to beat the league leaders more than you would one of the newly promoted sides. In fact, that’s exactly what we are saying! They didn’t beat Norwich or Swansea, but I think the hosts can take Man City’s unbeaten record away at best odds of 19/10 with Coral.
Roberto Mancini’s side showed frailty in the 2-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Most of them will also remember pretty clearly the humbling experience this fixture was as recently as April. The Reds ran out convincing 3-0 winners. City may be a different side these days, but those two results are bound to cast some doubt in their minds as they head to Merseyside.
Furthermore, Dalglish’s side are fresh and raring to go after a midweek off. Confidence will be sky-high after the 2-1 triumph at Stamford Bridge last Sunday that was probably merited. That was no flash in the pan against the big boys either. Liverpool are unbeaten in eight matches against the Manchester sides, Arsenal and Chelsea. Anfield relishes the role of 12th man on days like Sunday. Expect The Kop to roar the hosts home once again.
