Liverpool v Chelsea Tip

There will be an electric atmosphere at Anfield for the first return of Rafa Benitez since his days in charge of the Reds.

This could be the day that Chelsea’s fixture pile-up finally catches up with them. It feels like Rafa Benitez has been constantly spinning plates as he tries to cope with squad rotation and his own enduring unpopularity. This will be his first return to Anfield since his days in the home dugout and it could be a miserable afternoon for him and his fellow former Red Fernando Torres.

The Blues had a good result over Fulham in midweek but it could easily have been very different had the first goal gone the other way. This will be a much tougher test regardless, and Chelsea had lost three away games on the bounce before their trip to Craven Cottage.

Liverpool have a formidable recent record in this fixture having won four and drawn one of the last five meetings. The hosts will have been waiting for this one and may have been saving up a couple of timely goals after consecutive 0-0 draws. That at least tells us that the defence is in good nick and I fancy a 2-0 home win at best odds of 12/1 with BetVictor.
