Dutch on the Drift

The Danes made a dream start to their campaign.

The Oranje need to produce their best against Germany and Portugal to avoid an early flight home.

Netherlands made the worst possible start to their bid for European glory by slipping to a shock 1-0 defeat to outsiders Denmark.

Bert Van Marwik’s side immediately drifted out to 14/1(Bet365) for the tournament having been half that price prior to kick-off. Inevitably, the plucky Scandinavians went dramatically the other way; now 40/1 (Skybet) in from 100/1.

The second match in the ‘Group of Death’ went more to form, although the Germans had to wait late to see off a largely unadventurous Portugal. Joachim Loew’s team have stayed pretty static in the betting (3/1 Skybet) although Mario Gomez became a strong favourite for the Golden Boot (11/2 Coral) after heading the only goal.
