Crystal Palace v Brighton Tip

The Eagles are outsiders to progress to Wembley but their home record gives them every chance in the first leg at least.

The bookies have made Brighton favourites (8/11 Coral) for the second Championship play-off that starts on Friday night but the south London club do boast a fearsome home record.

Ian Holloway’s side have only lost one of their last 23 fixtures in all competitions at Selhurst Park and scored more goals in front of their own fans (52) than anybody else in the division, or indeed the entire Football League.

The Eagles will be boosted by their dramatic 3-2 victory over Peterborough on the final day of the regular season which will have restored some much needed confidence. The 3-0 success over the Seagulls here back in December will also not have been forgotten.

However, Brighton are on smart form themselves and any home victory will surely only come by the narrowest of margins. It could all be set up for a tense second leg at the Amex Stadium on Monday night if Palace win the first leg by a one-goal margin at best odds of 16/5 with Boylesports.
