Chelsea Stats Suggest Good Time Ahead

Chelsea came unstuck against an inspired Liverpool last Friday but it’s not a complete disaster because Arsenal, the team they face on Saturday night, suffered the same fate.

So far there is a lot to like about Antonio Conte’s team. They are ranked second in game state adjusted shots and lead the same metric in defence.

In comparison Arsenal are languishing in eighth and although it’s still very early days, the schedule has been equally kind to both teams.

With Eden Hazard and Diego Costa back from their 2015/16 gap-years, Chelsea have the type of squad capable of mounting a title challenge. In terms of shots they are better at both ends than Arsenal and although they don’t have home advantage they are a touch big at 11/5 (Coral).
