Chelsea Shorten in Title Betting
With both Arsenal and United dropping points, the door has opened for Chelsea.
Chelsea were the biggest winners over the weekend as both Arsenal and Manchester United dropped points. John Terry’s assertion that Chelsea could still win the title doesn’t look quite so fanciful now. At the start of March, his team were 22/1 to win the Premier League. A week later, with a win over United, Chelsea are only 9/1 to retain their title.
After dropping two points at the Emirates on Saturday, Arsenal had been eased to 5/2 to win the Premier League. Arsene Wenger has Liverpool to thank that they are now back to 15/8 in the betting, after United lost at Anfield on Sunday.
The race for a top four finish and a Champions League spot took another turn as Tottenham drew against Wolves. That result leaves Spurs a 9/4 chance with Bet365 to get that coveted top four finish. They had been 5/4 before the weekend round of matches.
