I find it hard to predict a scoreline for this, one of the more glamorous fixtures in English football, due to the inconsistency of the sides involved. Both Arsenal and Liverpool can both still look unplayable on their day, but at other times, standards really slip.
Betting on goalscorers feels like a better option and both sides have men right in the zone at the moment. Luis Suarez has found the net a remarkable 21 times in all competitions before the end of January. The 26-year-old has scored seven goals in his last six games across all competitions.
The bookies give generous odds on him firing at Arsenal (2/1 StanJames) because it’s a tricky away fixture for the Reds. However, after getting on the scoresheet against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton (the latter two away), this shouldn’t be a concern for us.
