Arsenal v Liverpool Tip 1

The Frenchman is on fire after four in his last two.

I find it hard to predict a scoreline for this, one of the more glamorous fixtures in English football, due to the inconsistency of the sides involved. Both Arsenal and Liverpool can both still look unplayable on their day, but at other times, standards really slip.

Betting on goalscorers feels like a better option and both sides have men right in the zone at the moment. The Gunners now have Olivier Giroud looking very settled in after four goals in his last two outings. The Frenchman lit up the Emirates with two strikes in the space of 10 second half minutes against West Ham last week before bagging another brace at Brighton at the weekend.

The 6ft 4in striker is now being embraced by the home faithful and Arsene Wenger has compared him to Arsenal legend Alan Smith - the man who top scored for the Londoners in both their title-winning seasons of 1989 and 1991. The comparison seems worthy and at best odds of 2/1 (Ladbrokes) Giroud looks good value in the anytime goalscorer market.
