Arsenal Implode

Wenger is dismayed by his side's recent woes

A Liverpool penalty deep, deep into injury time made it 1-1 and piled the misery onto Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

An 102nd minute Liverpool equaliser at the Emirates Stadium dealt Arsenal a crushing blow in their pursuit of a first league title since 2004. Now six points behind Man United with six games remaining, Victor Chandler have pushed the Gunners’ odds out to 12/1. Given the dejected players who slumped off the pitch on Sunday even the 1/150 on Arsenal finishing in the top four may be revised sharply before too long! A Wednesday night trip to White Hart Lane now looks like the last thing Arsene Wenger needs; his side have won once in seven games now, and that was against Blackpool.

Chelsea are now 14/1 for the title following a decent 3-1 win at West Brom. The odds are still slim but at least now comparable to their North London rivals. Just two points behind Arsenal, and on form, Ancelotti has a decent opportunity to seize second spot at the very least. Upcoming home games against Birmingham, West Ham and Spurs give Chelsea the chance to keep winning and put some pressure on Man United who at 1/8 can afford a couple of slip-ups.
