Southwell Tips: Joe Le Taxi

Beaten only three lengths in a much better race. Anything remotely near that level will be good enough today.

The 4.50 Southwell looks a great opportunity for Joe Le Taxi to pick up a fare. Two runs ago he finished a close 6th in one of the strongest sprint handicaps staged at Southwell this winter. He was only beaten by three lengths in a 0-85 race and it contained horses running at the top of their game. Dropped to a 0-65 handicap with exposed opposition it would be a shock if he could not score.

In his only other visit to Southwell, he won by three lengths, with Ridgeway Hawk behind him that day. The Mark Johnston stable are in cracking form having supplied Joe Fanning with 29 winners at a 29% strike rate. This should be number 30.
