Southwell Tip: Cool Echo Up In Trip
Solid Fibresand debut if slightly outpaced over 5f. Up in trip and can win off current handicap mark.
We were unable to land the spoils on New Year’s Day with Cool Echo but she ran a decent race in fourth, only beaten two lengths and is worth another try.
Having been largely campaigned over 6f, I thought she’d be suited to the minimum trip but she found 5f on the sharp side and wasn’t helped racing wide in stall 1. Connections step her up to 6f today and that is a sensible move, especially considering the weak race they’ve found.
John Jenkins keeps churning out the winners at Southwell and having trained Cool Echo’s half-brother to victory on the Fibresand, he knows what it takes to get the job done.
