Swift Blade Can Make The Cut
Needs a strong pace, which he hasn’t got on his last two starts. Not beaten far last time out, travelled strongly but short of room.
Swift Blade has run two good races in a row and is still underestimated for the 1.40 Goodwood.
He finished third at Lingfield on his penultimate start but came out best when adjusting for sectionals. Although a final 2f of 23.16s wasn’t impressive in absolute terms, the track was riding slow and it was still the fastest sectional in the race.
At Windsor he ran a similar type of race, again held-up in rear he was not suited by the moderate gallop set by Diaktoros making all.
Swift Blade travelled strongly and was only beaten by two lengths despite struggling to get a clear run.
If he can avoid traffic problems, he could be up to winning at Goodwood at 16/1 (Bet365).
