Southwell Tips: Upper Lambourn

Three wins from four visits to the track and has a progressive profile.

The 3.45 at Southwell is a cracking sprint handicap with several in-form course specialists. Upper Lambourn has the most exciting profile and looks a terrific bet at the odds.

A lightly raced four-year-old, he is proving very difficult to beat at Southwell. He has won three of his four starts at the track, with his one defeat excusable from a wretched draw.

On 2 January, Upper Lambourn put in an eye-catching performance to win over course and distance. Hampered on the bend he lost ground and was forced to make his challenge up the unfavoured far rail. Turning into the straight, he made up four lengths with a blistering run to win going away.

He can only improve with racing and under the expert tutelage of Brian Ellison this horse could go on and win some valuable handicaps in the summer. At 13/2 (Sportingbet) get on now before he shows his hand.
