Southwell Racing Tips: Takajan
Has looked capable of winning in this grade all winter, now the stable have hit form he should gain an overdue victory.
Takajan has been running adequately without making the frame this winter but there are signs he is about to hit form in the 1.40 Southwell.
His stable have had three winners in the last 14 days, more than the previous three months combined. Mark Brisbourne teamed up with Kieren Fallon for a winner yesterday and he continues with a partnership that enjoys a 43% strike rate, albeit from only seven rides.
Around this time last year, Takajan won a class five handicap earning a good speed rating. He now races off a 15lbs lower mark and he should win easily if on a going day. He is a horse that can sometimes flatter to deceive in the finish but with Fallon onboard, we have the perfect jockey to coax the horse past the finish line.
