Southwell Tips: Sharaarah

Southwell is the only all-weather track in the country that uses a fibresand surface and therefore lends itself to the ‘course specialist’.

In the 3.50 race, we have two horses that fit the category. Flash City has never finished outside the top-3 at Southwell whilst Sharaarah is 1/1 and it is the latter that takes my fancy.

David O’Meara’s filly hacked up over course and distance back in June but unfortunately her options we limited thereafter. Summer racing at Southwell is rare therefore Sharaarah had to run on turf instead.

Although she acquitted herself well, I can’t help think connections always had a winter campaign on the fibresand in mind.

Her winning time at Southwell was good without being fully extended and I think there’s more to come from this horse.
