Punching Above His Weight

Won 8 times from 28 starts at Southwell and finished a close fifth in a hot handicap at the start of the month.

There is a bit of value in the 1.50 Southwell, where despite the small field, the bookmakers have the top two in the betting the wrong way round.

Ingleby Arch has been a stalwart around Southwell but he has lost speed with his advancing years. Now nine-years-old his last two wins have come at seven furlongs and a return to six will be too sharp for him. Expect him to be outpaced mid-race.

Punching , on the other hand, looks as good as ever. On 7 February, he finished fifth in one of the hottest handicaps staged at Southwell this winter. The race was run in a good time and the form looks rock solid.

He should be able to get a nice position behind the front-running Cape Of Storms and have the race set up for his ninth win at Southwell.
