Southwell Tips: Pearl Ransom
First start at Southwell but has plenty of early speed and Alan Bailey has a 21% strike rate at the track with £120 level stakes profit.
Pearl Ransom made a bold attempt to make all on his last start, just getting caught in the final 150 yards.
Unfortunately, he has been pushed up in grade after that run but I believe his performance has been underestimated.
Fergal Lynch set an overly strong pace, with Pearl Ransom’s finishing speed 97.9% of the overall speed, indicating that he slowed down in the final 2f.
This afternoon he races at Southwell for the first time but on the Fibresand early speed is an advantage because it is hard to come from off the pace and win.
Alan Bailey has an excellent record at Southwell over the past five seasons, 21% strike rate (18-85) and a £120 level-stakes profit.
John Egan is also a positive booking, he’s ridden Pearl Ransom once before and won.
The clues are there and at 15/2 (William Hill) he is a decent bet.
