Southwell Tips: Monsieur Jamie
Is 4/6 over course and distance and still room for improvement after a long summer layoff. This is only his third run since March.
The 1.00 at Southwell is an excellent looking race with previous course and distance winners Crimson Cloud and Monsieur Jamie the ones to look out for.
Of the two, it is Monsieur Jamie I’m siding with. Although he carries more weight, his overall profile is more attractive, his record over course and distance is 1121U1. Having only his 12th start, there is probably more to come.
Last time out he won a competitive contest quite comfortably. After tracking the pace, he put the race to bed in a couple of strides, showing the kind of midrace turn of foot only available to the better horses. That was only his second start since March, so he should be even sharper today.
Take the 10/3 currently available with Stan James and if that goes there is 3/1 available with Ladbrokes.
