Southwell Tips: Mappin Time
A fast finishing 4th on his seasonal reappearance. Should improve for the step up in trip.
On his seasonal reappearance, Mappin Time looked like a six-furlong horse running over five; he looked outpaced before finishing with purpose. A return to 6f in the 6.30 Southwell should see him to much better effect.
Ignore his final start of 2011 because of soft ground at Ayr, and he looks a progressive sprinter. He won at Chester in August and placed at Haydock when making good progress from off the pace on a day that favoured front-runners.
The Tim Easterby yard has just started to hit form with four winners in the last two weeks and Mappin Time looks a horse to keep onside during the early part of the season.
