Southwell Tips: Flash City
Lost form in the second half of 2013 but previously a useful sprinter and having his first start for Ruth Carr.
Beacon Tarn has the best form in the book for the 3.05 Southwell but that is factored into her price therefore I’m tempted to have a small punt on the outsider Flash City.
He was a useful sprinter a couple of years ago, regularly competitive off a mark in the mid-80s. He lost his way in the second half of 2013 but has since moved to Ruth Carr and that might spark a rival.
He is a previous course and distance winner and you don’t have to go too far back in his form to find him finishing second in a class 4 handicap sprint (6 July 2013 at Beverley).
There’s a chance he’s completely lost the plot but Ruth Carr has a knack of revitalising sprinters and he’s worth the risk at 16/1 (Bet365).
