Southwell Tips: Equitania
Unlucky when caught on the line two starts back. Has the early pace to capitalise if the track is riding quicker than usual because of the rain.
The 2.00 Southwell is an almost identical re-run of the race held over course and distance 22 days ago.
The first, second, third, fourth and sixth line-up for a rematch and although only half a length covered the top-4, I think conditions will favour Equitania.
Heavy rain over the past 24 hours should mean the track rides a little bit quicker as the moisture binds the fibresand together and it rides less deep. Because Equitania has the best early pace of anyone in the field if Robert Winston gets a fast start there might be no pegging him back.
Sent off too fast in a high quality sprint at Lingfield last time out, this race plays much more to Equitania’s strength. Her record over course and distance is 12 and she was unlucky to lose her 100% record when Bedloe’s Island mugged her on the line last month.
