Southwell Tips: Equitania
Could win the race at the start with her blistering gate speed.
The 2.00 Southwell is a cracking sprint but as with all races on the fibresand previous course form could prove crucial.
Equitania is a previous course winner, albeit over 6f, but she has such tremendous gate speed a drop to 5f is ideal.
Last time out at Wolverhampton she took three lengths out of the field at the start of the race and that could be the winning move over Southwell’s straight 5f. The sharp nature of the track combined with the fibresand kickback means it is difficult to come from off the pace to win.
Equitania has won three of her last four starts and in two of them she has earned speed ratings worthy of a class 2 horse. Considering her excellent form she is a big at 15/2 (BetVictor).
