Southwell Tips: Bandstand
Will be delighted to see the track re-open. His record at Southwell is 2211 and he won the race last year.
It’s great to have all-weather racing back at Southwell as from a punting perspective it is one of my favourite tracks. As a welcome gift, the bookmakers have mistakenly priced Bandstand at 11/2 (Betfred) to win the 3.40 Southwell.
Winner of the race last year, he is very much a course specialist. His record at the track is 2211.
His recent performances have been underwhelming, but he was twice drawn wide at Wolverhampton and he isn’t nearly as good on polytrack as he is on the fibresand.
Racing off the same mark as last year and with Bryan Smart generating a £66.50 level stakes profit from his runners at the track over the past 5 seasons, he looks the value bet.
