Southwell Tips: Cool Echo
Half-brother Ruby Looker won over course and distance and was also trained by John Jenkins. The clues are there.
Cool Echo has finished 666 on her last four starts but the devil is in the detail. All those performances came over 6f/7f but is at her best over the minimum trip.
Back in June she earned a big speed rating when second at Windsor over 5f on good to soft going and it could be a combination of trip and a slow surface that brings out the best in her.
The 12.05 Southwell is her first start on the Fibresand but her half-brother Ruby Looker won over course and distance and coincidentally was also trainer by John Jenkins.
Jenkins is prolific at Southwell with 35 winners over the past 5 seasons and combined with his knowledge of the family, he could add to the tally with Cool Echo.
