Southwell Racing Tips: Punching
Has a terrific record at the track and races against some disappointing types.
Three horses line-up in the 3.00 Southwell with some lofty ratings but you have to question why they find themselves in a claimer. The answer is because they can’t win a handicap off their current marks and are nowhere near as good as their ratings suggest.
For that reason I’m bypassing Tallahasse, Beat The Bell and Ghostwing and sticking with course specialist Punching.
He ran a good race when second last week but was unfortunate to run into the useful Mazovian. At eight-years-old he is vulnerable to a younger, progressive rival but I can’t see one in this race.
At 4/1 (Betfred) he is good value to add to his 8 course victories.
