Southwell Racing Tip: Spic’n’Span
This course specialist is rarely outside the top two when faced with today’s conditions.
Although the turf season is in full swing, we are back to the all weather for a bet in the 2.10 at Southwell.
Spic’n’Span is a straight forward horse, he has blistering early pace, has to lead and has an affinity for the fibresand. He had been in the doldrums of late but showed he was returning to form when fourth at Lingfield. Running at a course that does not suit him, he showed bright speed to out battle fellow pace setter Triskaidekaphobia, only fading in the last 150 yards.
Switched back to Southwell we should see him at his very best. Today’s race is over five furlongs, in a class 6 race. When he has met these conditions at Southwell his record is: 2719122118. In summary, Spic’n’Span has been in the top two 70% of the time; a real course and distance specialist.
