Newcastle Tips: Accladora
Inconvenienced by poor draw and pedestrian gallop last time. Did well to finish so close after suffering interference on numerous occasions.
Without a win in five starts, Accladora is one of Mark Johnston’s weaker juveniles but she showed enough on her last start to suggest there is a little win in her.
Drawn wide, Silvestre De Sousa had no option but to take a pull and settle in rear. This turned out the be the worst possible position as they crawled through the race with the finishing speed 107.1% of the average race speed.
Accladora tried to quicken but ran onto the heels of those in front and her chance was gone. Despite a troubled passage she clocked the fastest closing sectional in the race and was only beaten 5.25 lengths under a hands and heels ride.
The overall time of the race was poor (even considering the steady pace) but her closing sectional hinted at some ability. The 8.10 Newcastle is not a strong race and is there for the taking.
