Newbury Tips: Mrs Danvers
Easy winner of two starts to date both in good times. Might improve further on a quicker surface.
Jonathan Portman has been averaging £144,000 in earnings over the past five season but he could hit that mark in just one race.
The Super Sprint at Newbury (4.10) is worth over £128,000 to the winner and the Upper Lambourn trainer has a lively contender in Mrs Danvers.
She cause a big surprise when winning on debut at Lingfield at 33/1 but she backed that up with another easy win at Windsor.
Her collateral form might not add up to much but her speed ratings have been impressive, both in the 80s. She will need to improve to win at Newbury but that could come about with the change in surface. Both her wins have come on soft ground but she has plenty of early pace and might be better on a sounder surface.
Largely un-fancied by the layers she has the assistance of Luke Morris in the saddle and could cause a surprise.
