Newbury Tips: Mr Lupton
Ran a big speed rating when winning at York and his hold-up style of racing is suited to Newbury.
There has only been one 3-year-old winner in the last ten renewals of the Hackwood Stakes (3.35 Newbury) but the younger generation could score again.
Mr Lupton ran a huge speed rating (106) when carrying top weight to victory in a handicap at York and he can make the leap to Group company.
A hold-up horse that enjoys finishing off a strong pace, Newbury is probably the ideal track for him. He finished second in the Super Sprint last season and returns to showcase his credentials at the same meeting.
Having won three times and placed on a further seven occasions in just 13 starts he is a consistent and likeable sprinter. His only blot was at Newcastle last time but that was his first run on the all-weather and can be excused.
