Mambo Fever Potential Fibresand Specialist
Mambo Fever was a beaten favourite on her last five starts but has ability and is 1/1 at Southwell.
When it comes to placing bets at Southwell the old adage of ‘horses for courses’ often rings true. The Nottinghamshire venue is the only Fibresand track in the country and some horses take to it much better than others.
Mambo Fever won her maiden at the track around this time last year and returns for the first time since then.
In between she’s shown promise on turf without quite delivering. She was a beaten favourite on her last five starts and although that might sound alarm bells she’s been unlucky a few times.
She was unfortunate to finish second at Haydock in July when she let the winner get first run off a moderate gallop and then found her path blocked when trying to challenge.
Mambo Fever looks well treated off a mark of 59 and her speed ratings suggest she is much better than her current rating. A return to Southwell could see her win again at generous odds of 12/1 (William Hill).
