Lethal Force: Goodwood
Ran a great race from a poor draw at Royal Ascot.
Having finished 5.5 lengths in front of Chandlery at Royal Ascot I’m surprised to see Lethal Force is the bigger of the two in the betting for the 2.35. His price is probably because he is still a maiden but that is unlikely to be the case for long.
Drawn low in the Coventry Stakes, Clive Cox’s two year-old fared best of those to race down the middle. The first two in the race are smart prospects, so to finish so close from an unfavourable draw is an excellent effort.
He has already raced at Goodwood, crucial course experience on a difficult track for juveniles. In an open race he looks overpriced.
