British Champions Sprint Tips: Signs Of Blessing

The 2016 renewal on the Champions Sprint Stakes looks a strong one and a good case can be made for any of the main protagonists. I have Quiet Reflection, Twilight Son, Librisa Breeze and Shalaa all capable of running an adjusted speed rating of 110+ but that is already accounted for in the market. The forgotten horse is Signs Of Blessing.

He ran an absolute cracker to finish third in the Diamond Jubilee beaten only half a length and recorded a speed rating of 109. Since then he’s gone on to win the Prix Maurice De Gheest and you don’t win that unless you are a very good horse indeed.

Muhaarar won at Deauville before taking the season finale at Ascot and there is every chance Signs Of Blessing does the same. The slightly quicker ground than he encountered at Royal Ascot is in his favour as is the return of Stephane Pasquier. He missed the ride in the Diamond Jubilee but has won six times on the 5-year-old including three times this season.

When Stephane Pasquier and Signs Of Blessing combine over 5.5f or further their record is 5211317111. If you remove races where the ground was very soft it becomes 21111, making them a cracking bet at 12/1.
