Doncaster Tips: Shore Step
Previous course winner and rarely runs a bad race. Beaten by no more than 3.25 lengths this season.
The 4.15 Doncaster features several out of form horses and Shore Step might win it by default.
He looked a decent sprinter in the making when closing out last season with a victory at Doncaster but has failed to build on the promise – until perhaps now.
The 5-year-old hasn’t been beaten by more than 3.25 lengths in five starts this year and always seems to run his race.
Shore Step has earned Racing Post ratings of 94-95-99-97-92 and although that doesn’t give him much in hand racing off a mark of 93, he is returning to a venue where he’s enjoyed success before.
In the context of this race – that might be enough.
