Chelmsford Tips: Mossy’s Lodge
Open to further improvement and ran a good time for the grade at Chelmsford last time. Louis Steward makes the trip from Doncaster just for this ride.
The 7.55 Chelmsford is a low-grade handicap but there are plenty of positives going for Mossy’s Lodge. Ten days ago, she was only beaten half a length (over 6f) and ran a solid race in defeat. Her second division of the handicap was won in a time 0.22s faster than the first division and both were run at a similar pace.
One of only two 3-year-old’s in this evening’s line-up she has the most scope for improvement and on her third race back after a summer break she should be cheery-ripe for this contest.
After winning her maiden in February her trainer suggested she would get further but she doesn’t lack for a finishing burst either as a rapid 21.7s closing sectional at Lingfield testifies.
Nicely drawn in stall one, Louis Steward makes the trip down from Doncaster for just one ride. The talented apprentice is 3-11 for Tony Carson and all these small factors make Mossy’s Lodge a good bet.
