Doncaster Tips: Masamah

Has the best draw and seems to be hitting form at the right time.

Sprint at Doncaster this season have been dominated by the stand’s rail draw bias and even the best races can be affected. Masamah has the plum draw in stall 13 and has the early pace to make all the running against the stand’s rail.

After a quiet year, blighted by some sluggish starts from the gates, Masamah has hit form in the last month. He’s regained his customary early dash and was unlucky to lose at Beverley eleven days ago when drawn on the wrong side.

He is a horse I’ve always fancied for the Prix De L’Abbaye at Longchamp in October and I suspect Kevin Ryan has this horse peaking for an Autumn campaign. His biggest danger is Sole Power but after a long season that began at Meydan in March he’s looks poor value, especially compared to Masamah’s quote of 9/1 (BetVictor).
